A McConnelsville man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Washington County Saturday morning.
Matthew Strode, 29, was driving south on Reed Road at 7:27 a.m. and drove his 2002 Chevy truck off the left side of the roadway where it struck a tree, according to a report from the Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The truck rolled over into a creek bed before coming to rest.
Strode was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to Miller/Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville.
The police report said Strode was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
Police reported Sunday that a passenger in the truck survived the crash, but the name of the passenger was not being released as the incident was still under investigation.
Malta/McConnelsville Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
