Children invited to library activities

Children ages 3 to 6 are invited to come to the Marietta location of the Washington County Public Library for an hour of stories, crafts and treats at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1 in the library meeting room. Registration is required, by stopping by the Youth Services department or calling 373-1057, Ext. 219.

Lions Club plans Christmas auction

The Beverly Lions Club will have its seventh annual Christmas Display & Treats Auction at 2 p.m. Dec. 2. There will be browsing from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the auction at the former Mindling Building, 220 5th Street (next to Muskingum True Value Hardware.) All profits will be divided equally between diabetes research and the Beverly Lions community projects.

Fearing VFD will hold benefit dinner

The Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a dinner and other activities Dec. 8 to benefit Becky Moore and family, who lost their home as a result of a fire. A chicken and ham dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at the firehouse at 1975 Stanleyville Road, Whipple, followed by a square dance at 8 p.m. with music by The Buckeye Travelers. A country store will also be held during the evening.

Beekeepers group will meet at WCCC

The Mid Ohio Valley Beekeepers' Association will meet at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Washington County Career Center on Ohio 676 in Marietta. This will be a pot luck dinner, with drinks and table service provided by the club. Plans are being finalized for the Honey Bee Expo to be held Feb. 2 at the WVU-Parkersburg Campus.

Holiday bazaar will be at Beverly Legion

A holiday bazaar will be hosted by the Beverly-Waterford Area Junior Chamber of Commerce from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Beverly American Legion. There will be vendors, pizza and baked goods. Vendors may contact Lisa Ferguson at 236-2146 for details.

Free community lunch at K of C Hall

The Daily Bread Kitchen will have a free community lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Franklin Street in Marietta. The meal will be a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings.
