Thomas E. Hughes Sr., 67, of Marietta, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 20, 2012) at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born Tuesday, Oct. 23, 1945, at Charleston, W.Va., the son of Maxwell and Freda Miller Hughes. He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and a member of Aurelius Lodge No. 308 at Macksburg, Ohio, American Union Chapter No. 1 RAM, Marietta Council No. 78 R & SM , Marietta Commandery No. 50 KT and Aurelius Chapter No. 60 Order of Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Sarringhausen Brown; three daughters, Vicki Stout (Michael) of Frazures Bottom, W.Va., Shari Hughes (Johnny Matheny) of Red Haven, W.Va., Jennifer Horner (Norman) of Bens Run, W.Va.; and three sons, Thomas E. Hughes Jr. of Sissonville, W.Va., William Sarringhausen (Dawn) of Marietta, and Robert Sarringhausen of Columbus, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Bruce of St. Albans, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Emma Jean Hughes.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Nov. 24 2012) at 11 a.m. with Roger Rush officiating at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta. Friends may call on Friday (Nov. 23 2012) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel.
Masonic services will be held on Friday at 8 p.m.
