Helen Wilson Baldwin Porter, 89, of Beverly, a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caring wife, died peacefully on Nov. 27, 2012, at Muskingum Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beverly. Helen Aileen Wilson was born Feb. 25, 1923, to the late Albert M. and Ruth Coffman Wilson in Coal Run, Ohio.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, watching sports and spending time with her family and friends. Helen graduated from Beverly High School in 1941.
In 1947 Helen married her husband of 42 years, George Alan Baldwin and in 1948 they had a son, George Randall Baldwin. Both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jennie Waller and her second husband, James W. Porter. Helen is survived by her brother, Gary Wilson; niece, Sue Rainer; nephew Steven (Evelyn) Waller; stepson, Michael Porter; grandchildren, Doug (Joanna) Baldwin of Waterford; Dawn Baldwin, Denise (James) Gundel and Diana Baldwin all of Columbus, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Emma, Claire and Maggie Baldwin and Will, Addison and Jamie Gundel.
Helen will be laid to rest in the Stockport Cemetery. At her request, there will be no calling hours and she will be honored with a private family memorial service. McCurdy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
