The Belpre Woman's Club Annual Towns and Country Christmas Tour of Homes will be Sunday, Dec. 6, from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Tour stops include Belpre area homes and Stahl's Nursery and Christmas Shop. There will be a reception at the Belpre Public Library.
The annual performance of Handel's "Messiah" will be held at 3 p.m. on Dec. 6. The performance will be by the Marietta College-Civic Symphonette, the Oratorio Chorus and three guest soloists

Roy Hayman of Parkersburg and Frank Doyle of Clarksburg, W.Va., were arrested for attempting to rob the Bell Telephone pay station at the Union depot. Both plead not guilty.
Earl Jackson, a delivery boy for the Otto Brothers store was hit by a street car when he was thrown from his bicycle. Jackson walked away with a broken arm.
