Times past for Dec. 6

December 6, 2012
The Marietta Times

Charles Gerin was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct. Gerin reportedly had a few drinks and then threw a brick at the Steamer Pearl's captain, Captain Williamson, once the Pearl docked. Once the brick missed its mark, Gerin apparently tried to throw a punch at Williamson, who deflected it before giving Gerin "the beating of his life."

An open house will take place at the new fire house of Hose Company No. 1. The fire house features a new storage battery alarm system, as well as new fire equipment.

Compiled by Amanda Nicholson, Marietta College Special Collections.
