Olena M. Rhodes of Marietta and Michael P. Howerton of Parkersburg announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Klavdiya S. Hensel and Dale R. Hensel of Marietta. She has her Associate Degree in Nursing from the Medical College in Donetsk, Ukraine. She is employed as an RN at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Phil and Cheryl Howerton of Parkersburg. He is the grandson of Roy and Lucy Howerton of Sandyville, W.Va. He graduated from West Virginia University at Parkersburg with a Bachelor's of Applied Technology degree. He is employed at Washington State Community College.
The open church wedding is being planned for 6:30 p.m., Dec. 12, at Jefferson Baptist Temple, with the reception immediately following in the fellowship hall at the church. Everybody is welcome.
