- Perley Taylor, a member of the Salvation Army, and another man were taken into custody after soliciting funds for the Salvation Army without authorization.
- Stores in downtown Marietta were opened during evening hours for Christmas shoppers. Stores will remain open for the majority of the month.
25 years ago
- Friday, Dec. 11, marks the "Moonlight Madness" sale for area merchants. Stores will be open from 9 p.m. until midnight.
- Three hundred Ohio residents attended the Capitol Tree lighting ceremony. Four thousand bulbs decorated the 60-foot Christmas tree.
