Richard A. Pritchett Sr., 67, of Palmer Square, passed away at his home on Saturday (Dec. 8, 2012) after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Richard was born in Newport on May 15, 1945, to Edwin and Ethel (Davis) Pritchett. He served in the U.S. Military during the Vietnam era and was stationed in France. Richard was an avid woodworker and enjoyed the outdoors, camping and spending time with his family especially his five grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Sunderman) Pritchett; three sons, Richard Jr., and Joseph Pritchett both of Palmer Square and Aaron Pritchett of Jackson, Mich.
In addition to his parents; two brothers, Alfred and Robert; and a sister, Thelma Southall preceded Richard in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 12) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with the Rev. Helen Kline. Burial will follow in Gard Cemetery in Palmer Square.
