The Washington County Career Center honors its December Students of the Month, Megan Smith and Tyler Antill.
Megan Smith is a Waterford senior enrolled in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and she is the daughter of Sharon Smith of Waterford.
At the Career Center, Smith is a member of the SkillsUSA youth organization, Student Council, Interact Club, and the National Technical Honor Society where she holds the office of Vice President. She has received awards for the All A's Principal List, All A's & B's Honor Roll, and Outstanding Sports Medicine & Exercise Science Student. During her junior year, Smith competed locally for Tech Prep Showcase on "Diabetes" and placed second. At Waterford High School, she was active in Honors Choir, Spanish Club, softball, and cross country. Smith is a member of both Upward Bound and the River City & Runners Club. Sports Medicine & Exercise Science instructor, Lauren Copen, commented on special traits and roles that Smith carries such as responsible, caring, hard worker, leader, diligent, and an impeccable work ethic.

Smith currently is employed at All Pro Nutrition in Marietta. Upon graduation, she plans to attend Ohio University to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Massage and/or Orthopedics and a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy.
Tyler Antill is a Marietta senior enrolled in the Landscape Construction & Turf Management program, and he is the son of Greg and Carol Antill of Stanleyville.
At the Career Center, Antill is a member of the FFA youth organization where he holds the office of Chapter Vice President. In his program, he holds the office of Class Treasurer and is a member of both the Ohio Turf Grass Association and the Ohio Nursery Landscape Association. Antill has received awards for All A's Principal List, All A's & B's Honor Roll, Outstanding Geometry Student, Outstanding Transitions College Math Student, and Outstanding Landscape Construction & Turf Management Student. At Marietta High School, he was a member of FFA both his freshman and sophomore years. Landscape Construction & Turf Management instructor, Jason Lipot, describes Antill as a model Career Center student who is always willing to help both during and after school on various projects taking place. He participates and takes pride in whatever he does.
Antill currently works for the family business, Creative Landscapes, LLC, in Whipple, as a crew leader. He also is performing seasonal work for the Caywood Christmas Tree Farm as a laborer. After graduation, he plans to attend the Agricultural Technical Institute to obtain an Associate's Degree in Landscaping.
