As some of us head out to spend a little more on Christmas gifts this season, others in our community are wondering how they will put dinner on the table that night.
Food pantries are in need all year, but especially need help around the holidays.
We urge readers to take part in the annual Send Help campaign, by sending donations directly to one (or several) of 12 area food pantries. Look for the ad with addresses running in The Marietta Times or simply send a check to the addresses below.
One hundred percent of the donations will go to the pantry of your choice and benefit local families.
Giving to food pantries is a great way to stretch a donation dollar. Every $1 donated is worth $5 to the pantries, who receive discounted grocery prices.
That means only $40 can feed a family of four for a month.
