Gilbert Earl Lisk, 83, of Marietta, passed away Friday (Dec. 14, 2012) at the Marietta Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Monday, Aug. 5, 1929, in Rinard Mills, Ohio to the late Ernest and Maggie Hood Lisk.
Earl served in the U.S. Army's 45th Artillery Battalion Battery "C" during the Korean Conflict. He worked for The River Gas Company for 30 years before retiring in 1985. He then worked for the C.E. Lisk Construction Company until he retired at age 75. He was a member of Sandhill United Methodist Church before joining the Gilman Avenue United Methodist Church.
Earl is survived by his wife, Virginia Robinson Lisk, whom he married April 16, 1954, in Liberty, Ind.; sons, Keith Lisk of Waverly, Ohio, Brent Lisk (Kitty) and Craig Lisk (Melinda) both of Marietta; daughter, Robyn Stevens (Michael) of Marietta; grandchildren, Shawn, Krista, Carson, Cody, and Morgan Lisk, Ashley Stevens, Scott Rieder and Amanda Popovich; great-grandchildren, Addison Schramm, Mason Whitaker and Bailey Stevens. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Hupp.
Services will be held Tuesday (Dec. 18) at 11 a.m. at Gilman Avenue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Diann O'Bryant officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta.
