Danita Rowland Stegner

December 15, 2012
The Marietta Times

Danita Rowland Stegner, of Hackney, took her last breath on Friday (Dec. 14, 2012) while surrounded by her children, after a courageous battle with cancer. Despite her discomforts in the last months of her life, she always brought laughter to those she spent time with. Danita loved her family and friends and would always go out of her way to help those she cared for.

She was a caring and devoted mother to her children, Alexis and Andy. Her children were her strength and joy and she loved watching the happy moments in their lives. She also was a loving "Memal" to her grandchildren, Draven, Dimitri and Christopher. Danita was a wonderful friend to many and could always be counted upon for advice and a smile.

She enjoyed decorating, crossword puzzles, playing scrabble, watching TV, cooking and drinking coffee. She liked to read to little Christopher, and laugh with her stepdaughter, Jennifer. One of her favorite things to do was to spend time sharing memories with "Sissy" and "Bub" from their childhoods. She also looked forward to listening to stories and snuggling with her Draven, who always inspired her with his Super Powers. Though she may not admit it if she were here today, she loved to be serenaded by Alexis and Steph, especially to "Total Eclipse of the Heart". Danita reminded everyone around her through her special friendship with Kim that no one is ever too old for sleepovers. She appreciated the love and support of so many friends and family throughout her battle, especially Norma and John.
