DOVER - Marietta traveled to Dover for an East Central Ohio League girls' basketball matchup Saturday and came away with a 98-47 victory. The Lady Tigers improved to 4-0 overall (3-0 ECOL) on the season.
Erica Dawson lead the way with 39 points with Lain Weppler adding 11. Lauren Martin netted 10 markers. Twelve different Lady Tigers scored.
Scott Cozzens-coached Marietta shot 55 percent from the floor in the contest, and drained 10 threes.

Mariah Monaco 14 led Dover with 14 points, and Sara Dimmermuth chipped in with 10.
The game started out back and forth as the Lady Tornados had a height advantage with offensive rebounds and putbacks.
Midway through the first quarter, MHS applied more defensive pressure and the game turned at that point. The Lady Tigers finished the opening stanza with an 18-7 run and 27-14 lead.

The second quarter proved to be decisive as Marietta forced Dover into more turnovers and hurried shots. The result had Marietta outscoring the Lady Tornadoes 28-8, good for a 55-22 halftime advantage.
After the break, Marietta removed any doubt of a Dover comeback as Dawson scored five quick points to extend the lead 60-24.

Marietta bounced back from its setback to Dover Friday night with a 58-40 triumph over Coshocton (3-2) in East Central Ohio League boys' basketball action at Sutton Gym Saturday night.
MHS sophomore Corey Hill scored a game-high 16 points to lead the way. Billy Weekly chipped in with eight markers.
The J.D. Secrest-coached Tigers (2-3 overall) got off to a great start, staking themselves to a 23-8 first-quarter advantage. At halftime, the orange and black led 35-17.
