The Camden Clark Regional Wound Care Center celebrated its 5th year anniversary by adding a fourth Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
"We are fortunate to have the opportunity to add a fourth hyperbaric oxygen chamber to our Regional Wound Care Center," said Dr. Steven Richards, Medical Director of the Center. "We are caring for more patients than ever before, and this center has been able to keep pace with this growing need. Camden Clark remains at the cutting edge of wound care, and this fourth chamber will allow more patients access to some of the most powerful tools in wound healing."
The Camden Clark Regional Wound Care Center treats approximately 600 wound care patients per month as well as an average of 300 patients that use Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy as part of their treatment.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a thoroughly tested, completely safe and painless medical treatment that enhances the body's natural healing ability and strengthens the body's immune system. By dramatically increasing the oxygen content level in blood and compromised tissue, hyperbaric oxygen provides the ideal environment to promote improved wound healing through its direct bacteriostatic effect and the growth of new blood vessels and skin.
Used as a primary and adjunctive therapy for many non-healing wounds, this noninvasive therapy acts as a catalyst to reduce healing time, improve healing rates and prevent possible limb loss. Patients who have suffered from chronic wounds for months, and even years, are routinely restored to health in a shorter time than they ever thought possible.
The Camden Clark Regional Wound Care Center has a multidisciplinary team of specialists and wound care certified RN's using the latest, state-of-the-art healing techniques. In addition to Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, we provide advanced wound care treatments such as skin substitutes, negative pressure therapy and advanced dressings.
