Marietta High School graduates and current and former employees of the school system renewed ties at Friday's fifth annual Holiday Homecoming event.
Organized by Marietta High's National Honor Society chapter, the event attracts recent graduates, and a growing number of not-so-recent grads and former employees.
It's just a fun time and a chance for everyone to catch up on what's going on at the school and with the former students and workers. A total of 79 attended the homecoming, in spite of some nasty winter weather that moved into the area Friday. That's just one less than the number attending last year's event. Pretty impressive.
The homecoming gives people a chance to renew ties with people at the school and maybe run into some old friends.
And the old yearbooks on display were sure to stir some memories and give recent graduates a chance to see how some familiar faces have changed over the years.
All in all, Marietta's Holiday Homecoming has grown into a December tradition that people mark on their calendars. We hope the honor society continues to organize the event and that even more people participate in future years.
