I just want to clarify a few things, I understand people fear the "AR15 Assault rifle" Eyeryone who owns one is owning a machine gun used by the military...Reality is the AR-15 is a semi automatic rifle, if you have a"Compliant" AR-15 it has a "Bullet Button" to remove the magazine, that means a tool has to be inserted to release the magazine, a 10 rounder I must add. Not everyone who has an AR-15 is Rambo, nor do they wish to be. Almost everyone who learned to shoot, learned on a .22 rifle beacuse it is saffe for kids to shoot...By the way a .22 bullet is .222 in size an Ar-15 fires a .224 bullet 2 one thousandths large, many .223 bullets are nearly the same weight as a .22 bullet.
Many shooters shoot .223 AR-15 for long range accuracy, the ballistics on a .223 is flat for 200 yards. Oh and as for Banning Firearms with a magazine capacity of more than 10, I guess I will surely miss the Marlin model 60 rifle, it's tubular magazine holds 18 rounds. Goodbye old friend.
I believe the thing that scares most people of the Ar-15 is it's looks, it is black and has all these accessories you can attach, Oh if you want to see a much less scary rifle I would look at the Ruger Mini 14 , surely with it's wood stock and normal appearance it shouldn't scare anyone, It is the AR-15's first cousin so to say, .223 removable magazine.
To conclude, now with the impending ban, there have been more AR-15's sold and more ammo sold in the last week, than in months, Oh and to the preppers, apparently the Myans were wrong, here it is Dec. 22, and I am writing this letter.
God Bless, and be safe out there, also hug your children and grandchildren.
