Bridal Extravaganza set for Jan. 6 at MC
Bridal Extravaganza 2013 will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 6 at Dyson Baudo Recreation Center at Marietta College. Registration is at 12:30. Admission is $5 per person.

Civil War Roundtable will meet at museum
The next regular meeting of the Civil War Roundtable of the Mid-Ohio Valley will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Campus Martius Museum, 601 Second St., Marietta.
George A. Hall, an author and historian from Parkersburg, will speak on the "Moccasin Rangers" and related incidents that followed the Civil War. The Moccasin Rangers were a loose-knit band of Confederate sympathizers organized largely in Calhoun, Webster and Braxton Counties in West Virginia to operate behind Union lines.
The event is free and open to the public.

Liberty trustees will meet once in January
Liberty Township trustees will hold its organizational and only meeting for January at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Dalzell Community Building. At this meeting they will also be interviewing for the appointment of township fiscal officer. All those interested should bring a resume, and attend this meeting. All regular monthly meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
Chicken pot pie fundraiser planned
The Betsey Mills Club's chicken pot pie fundraiser, 'Comfort Food at Its Finest,' will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 22 (takeout only) and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (dine in) and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (takeout) Feb. 23. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets are on sale now at The Betsey Mills Club.

Program on making families stronger
The Strengthening Families program for parents and youth ages 10 to 14, a class to build family strength and parenting skills, will begin a free seven-week session Jan. 8. The program meets from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Ely Chapman Education Foundation in Marietta. Dinner and child care is provided. The program is sponsored by Washington County Family and Children First.
