-The board of education approved the budget cuts for Marietta City Schools. If a 8.5-mill permanent operating levy doesn't pass, athletics and music programs will be cut from the schools.
- Selby General Hospital will offer a "Health Night Out" which will focus on stress relief. The event will be Jan. 12 at 7 p.m.

- Continued rains raised the river levels more. The river is now set to crest above 40 feet in Marietta.
- The Stafford Bible Class at the Gilman Avenue M.E. Church will celebrate its fourth anniversary Jan. 13.
