Meadowbrook 53, Marietta 51

BYESVILLE - Marietta dropped a heartbreaker to Meadowbrook 53-51 Tuesday night in an ECOL matchup.

The Tigers shot 18-for-46 (39 percent) from the floor and were led by Corey Hill's 15 points.

Billy Weekly also hit double digits with 11.

The Tigers were killed by a seven point first quarter. Every other quarter they outscored the Colts, but it was not enough to claim a victory.

Marietta will look to rebound Friday when it hosts Claymont.

Eastern 67,

Waterford 58

Waterford ran into some bad luck Tuesday as the opposing Eastern Eagles shot a blistering 68 percent from the floor in 67-58 victory.

The Wildcats were led by Austin Shriver's 21 points, Brian Moore's 14 points and Cody Paxton's 10 points.

Kirk Pullius had a game-high 29 for Eastern.

Waterford, now 4-4, held the advantage in rebounding and turnovers but it was not enough to cancel out the white-hot shooting of Eastern.

The Tom Simms-led Wildcats are back in action Friday when they host Trimble.

Belpre 49,

South Gallia 45

Belpre claimed a TVC win over South Gallia Tuesday night by a score of 49-45.

Belpre, now 5-6, was led by Dakota Hoffman's 18 points. The Golden Eagles grabbed 31 rebounds in the game, including 11 from Bryce Pittenger.

Trailing 11-10 at the end of the first quarter, Belpre's defense came up big by holding South Gallia to just eight markers in the second quarter to take a 23-19 advantage into halftime.

Belpre next plays at home against Eastern Friday.

Frontier 44,

Linsly 39

NEW?MATAMORAS - The Lady Cougars trailed 24-17 at halftime but rallied to beat Linsly 44-39 in a non-conference tilt Tuesday night.

Christin Douglas led Frontier with 16 points on the night. The Scott Murphy-coached Cougars were 16-for-47 (34 percent) shooting and notched 27 rebounds, led by Douglas' nine and Kelsie Rinard's seven.

Waterford 85, Wahama 28

The Waterford Lady Wildcats absolutely dismantled Wahama Tuesday night by a score of 85-28.

Waterford held Wahama to eight second half points in the 57-point blowout.

Four Lady Wildcats hit double digits in scoring in the game. Brooke Drayer led the way with 20, Chelsey Paxton had 17, Taylor Hilverding had 15, and Regan Porter contributed 10. Jerry Close-led Waterford shot 35-for-68 (51 percent) from the floor and had a whopping 49 rebounds, led by Paxton's 15.

Waterford will look to maintain that momentum into tonight's game against Southern.
