McCONNELSVILLE - The Morgan Lady Raiders put three players in double figures as they scored a 57-49 Muskingum Valley League win over Crooksville on Wednesday night.
Darian Apperson tallied 12 of her game high 18 points in the first quarter as Morgan led 16-15 after one quarter. The Lady Ceramics finished the second quarter on a 12-0 run to lead 31-25 at the break.
The Lady Raiders erased an eight point third quarter deficit behind nine points from Tianna Allen to lead 41-38 after three frames.
Vada Clemens would score eight fourth quarter points including two big three pointers to finish off the win.
Allen and Clemens each added 16 points. Clemens also had nine assists while Allen had six steals. Morgan won the rebounding battle 32-22 with Chani Hopkins grabbed nine boards for the winners.
The win kept Morgan in second place in the MVL standings and snapped Crooksville's eight game winning streak.

Caldwell 50, Newcomerstown 42
The Caldwell Lady Redskins picked up their second win of the season Wednesday night as they beat Newcomerstown 50-42. Caldwell, now 2-10, was led by Megan DeVol's 13 points. Jennifer Leasure added 12, while Ciarra Petry chipped in with 11.
Allie Hinton had a game-high 28 points for Newcomerstown.
Caldwell shot 20-for-54 (37 percent) from the floor compared to just 13-for-53 (25 percent) for Newcomerstown.
Newcomerstown actually held the edge in rebounding and turnovers, but could not shoot well enough to get a victory.
Leasure led everyone with 15 boards on the night.
Caldwell is back in action Monday when it goes on the road to play Shenandoah.
Fort Frye 56, Buckeye Trail 15
Fort Frye rebounded nicely from its second loss of the season against River with an absolutely dominating display over Buckeye Trail Wednesday night.
The Lady Cadet defense held Buckeye Trail to 6-for-27 (22 percent) shooting on the night en route to a 56-15 victory.
Dan Liedtke's squad is now 11-2 on the year and 6-1 in Pioneer Valley Conference play.
Taylor Buchanan (12), Brooke Borich (11) and Morgan Liedtke (10) all hit double digits in scoring for Fort Frye, while Deidra Combs added eight and Micayla Hupp chipped in with seven.
Liedtke and Buchanan each had a team-high four rebounds. FFHS?was only up 20-12 at halftime, but outscored Trail 22-0 in the third quarter to break it wide open. Fort Frye will look to keep it up Saturday when it hosts Huntington St. Joe in a non-conference tilt.
