January 15, 2013
The Marietta Times

Ramona Belle Bensonhaver Loy, God wrapped his arms around her and took her home on Sunday (Jan. 13, 2012). She had a wonderful soul and accepted everyone with kindness, a smile and laughter. She lived her life without complaint and with patience.

She was born on April 1, 1929, in Lancaster, to the late James and Virginia Bensonhaver. Mom loved to be with family and friends. She enjoyed music and played both the piano and organ; playing cards, bowling, swimming and traveling. In addition to raising her children, she worked many years as a server and cook at Root's, Todd's, Trader's Cafe, Sneed's and Bibb's. Ramona was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Olivedale Senior Citizens.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Diana (Dan) Allen, Sandy (Bruce) Baltzer, Karen Tiller, and Rita (Jim) Westhoven; and son, Scott (Lisa) Loy; stepdaughter, Denise (Dave) Picirillo; sister-in-law, Ginny Bensonhaver; her grandchildren, Trina Hawley, Lisa Sowers, Fred Bollinger, Jeremiah, Zachery, and Albert Baltzer, Jennifer Duskey, Jamie and Jeremy Allen, Emily Wears, Melonie Westhoven, Jake and Travis Westhoven; and 27 great-grandchildren plus one angel due in May; and one great-great-granddaughter. She also had her beloved dog, Snuggles, who gave her countless hours of Entertainment and kisses. Waiting for her in Heaven in addition to her parents are her husband, Eugene Loy; brother, William Bensonhaver; sister, Fern Bensonhaver; and longtime friend, Leona Huston.
