The Rev. Frank Conley, 84, of Sardis, died Saturday (Jan. 12, 2013) at Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville, W.Va.
He was born July 16, 1928, in Fly, the son of the late Leroy and Maggie Koher Conley.
He was a former school bus driver and a minister at many Methodist churches including Lewisville United Methodist Church and Bracken United Methodist Church, both in Lewisville, Mount Olive United Methodist Church and Locust Grove United Methodist Church, both in Sardis, and Newcomerstown United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Nolan Conley; and a great niece, Staci Perry.
Survivors include four siblings, Brady (Kate) Conley and Betty (Bob) Farnsworth, of Sardis, Alberta (Charles) Morris of Marietta and Gene (Joyce) Conley of Jacobsburg; six nieces and nephews, Virginia Ann Perry, Linda Karcher, Carl Conley, Pam Conley, Deron Farnsworth, and Tracey Bray; two great-nieces, Jessica Bray and Marci Perry Carver; and a great-great-nephew, Gryphon Carver. The family knows there is additional family on Amelia's side and we are sorry if we omitted someone.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 37234 Mound St., Sardis, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Delbert Lasure officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Sardis.
