Marietta Community Dog Park Volunteers
Twelve Marietta Community Dog Park volunteers met on Jan. 9 at Lookout Park. This meeting was held to gather feedback from people who are using the park. There will be another meeting on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Community Room of Lookout Park, 801 Lancaster St., Marietta.
Ideas were brought forth about trees, benches, water fountains, fund raising events, and advertising. There was discussion on the current parking situation as well as ideas on how to best remedy the situation. Also discussed were current drainage issues and how they were addressed earlier in the year.
The Dog Park is a community project, constructed and maintained by volunteers. The group needs volunteers for ideas and time to carry the construction and improvement of the Dog Park forward into 2013. Many hands will make for light work in the coming months so that we may all enjoy the park. Anyone is invited to the Jan. 23 meeting.
