Surrounded by her family, Barbara L. Chutes, 69, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Jan. 21, 2013, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on Aug. 19, 1943, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Lloyd H. and Lottie R. Poulton.
She is survived, and sadly missed, by her husband, Ralph Chutes; mother, Lottie Poulton; brother, Lloyd Poulton Jr. (Sherry); son, Jeffrey Greenlees (special friend Jim Schafer); daughters, Cathy Greenlees and Tami Hamilton; stepchildren, Vicki Chutes, Jan Otto and Denise Chutes; grandchildren, Josie Lada (Justin Welch), Tanner Hamilton, Logan Hamilton, and Larynn Cutshaw; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Wheeler and Taelyn Welch; special niece, Kimberly Jones; and many special relatives and close friends.
She was greeted in Heaven by her father, Lloyd Sr.; sister, Eris "June" Harris; and nephew, Tom Harris.
She retired as branch bank manager from the Marietta branch of the Beverly Citizens Bank Co. in August, 2009. Previously she worked for several years at Harts Family Center, Marietta and Parkersburg stores.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Strecker Cancer Center and Georgia Lang, our ICU nurse, for their wonderful care, and very special thanks to Dr. Rajendra Bhati who gave Barbara the best of care. The compassion, and special attention, given to her, and the family, will always be cherished and never forgotten.
Services will be held at the Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, Friday (Jan. 25) at 2 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday (Jan. 24) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the time of service. Graveside service will follow at the Tunnel Cemetery, Warren Township.
