25 years ago

- The Marietta Rotary Club is planning to pave a 1,800-foot walkway along the Muskingum River. The project is estimated to cost $8,000.

- The Hill and Dale Garden Club discussed the "Birds of Ohio" at its last meeting. Various birds and their eating habits were discussed. The next meeting will be Feb. 18 and will include slides of "Wildflowers of Ohio."

100 years ago

- The Pattin Brothers company foundry, currently located on the West Side, at the corner of Harmar and Market streets, will be moved to the rear of the machine shop of Pattin Brothers, on Second Street.

- Putnam and Third streets are to have new business blocks as a result of a huge realty deal.
