- The Ku Klux Klan held a rally in Matamoras and St. Marys, W.Va. One hundred to 300 people attended the heavily policed rally. The Klan said they would be back for rallies in the future.
- The CareUnit of Marietta Memorial Hospital will host a one hour program during which parents will learn how to help their children say "no" to drugs.
100 years ago
- This evening will conclude the poultry show of the Ohio Valley association. Attendance for the event has been the largest in its history.
- Upon being ejected from a train, Abel Wagner, of Broadwell, threw a stone at Conductor William Riley. It is believed that once he realized he would be charged with a serious offense, he boarded a B. & O. train to Parkersburg.
