Thanks you for the excellent article on Dr. Samuel Hildreth and the Mound Cemetery in the Jan. 26-27 edition of the Marietta Times. It was a pleasure to be reminded the great contributions that Dr. Hildreth made to Marietta and the Washington County area in the fields of early history, botany, geology, and natural history.
All Hildreth admirers are also grateful to the Marietta College Library Special Collections Department for preserving the Hildreth Papers and to the late Mildred Eberle, who painstakingly transcribed them to typed form.
