Church youth group plan square dance
Our Lady of Mercy youth group at Lowell will host a square dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the church hall. Admission is $3 per person, $5 per couple and $10 per family. There will be a cake walk, country store and concessions available.
Barlow library will have used book sale
A used book sale will be held at the Barlow library from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Health department will offer flu shots
The Marietta City Health Department, 304 Putnam St., will be offering flu shots on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The health department has flu vaccine for all ages in stock, including the flu mist for children and the high-dose vaccine for those over 65. There is a $10 fee for children and $25 for adults. Medicaid and Medicare are accepted. No one is turned away due to inability to pay.

Church fundraiser at community center
The Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Chesterhill will hold a church fundraiser at the Cutler Community Center from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The meal will include a choice of meatloaf or chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, noodles, green beans or baked beans, corn, cole slaw or potato salad, a roll, a beverage and dessert. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under the age of 10. There will also be an auction during the event.
Annual chili cook off at St. Mary Church
St. Mary Church, 506 Fourth St. Marietta, will hold its annual chili cook off from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the church basement. The cost is $5 for all the chili you can eat, and includes hot dogs. The event is open to the public.
Relay team plans pancake breakfast
The Hoots Relay For Life team is sponsoring a pancake breakfast Saturday at Applebees in Marietta. Tickets are $5.
