BELPRE - The Belpre Garden Club will celebrate a milestone anniversary next month with a luncheon, officials said.

Members of the garden club are expected to gather with city officials at 1 p.m. on March 11 at the Belpre Senior Center to mark 75 years since the organization began.

"We thought 75 years was worth a little celebration," said club president Janet Robinson.

The club currently has 16 members who meet once a month on the second Monday at one of the home of one selected member.

"We like that our group is smaller so we can met somewhere different every time," Robinson said.

Last year the club donated plants and time to maintain flower planters at the Belpre Public Library as well as Depot Park along with donating to civic projects and partnering with Belpre in Bloom.
