- A free coffeehouse will be presented in Marietta College's Gilman Student Center. The evening entertainment will showcase a variety of local musicians.
- "Heaven Can Wait," the latest Mid-Ohio Valley Players production, will be presented at 8:15 p.m. The play is based on the 1939 movie "Here Comes Mr. Jordan."
100 years ago
- The Carnegie Corporation has agreed to give $30,000 to the Marietta Public Library in order to erect a new building. One condition is that the city must agree to maintain the library.
- "The Man on the Box," a well-known comedy, will be opened by the Allen Stock Company in the Auditorium. The play will be performed all week.
