ALBANY - Belpre claimed the Ohio Division III sectional wrestling championhip in convincing fashion, outpointing runner-up Paint Valley, 201.5-130, at Alexander High Saturday.
BHS was in a 15-school field, which also included 10th-place Waterford (64 points).
Four Scott Adams-coached Golden Eagle grapplers - Gavin Stalnaker (106 pounds), Jordan McCutcheon (113), Tyler Martin (182), and Jamie Barrett (195) - earned individual titles. Manney Tullius (132) was runner-up.

Also placing for Belpre and advancing to district competition were Daniel Law (138, 3rd), Hayden Lowe (285, 3rd), Matt Colvin (152, 4th), and Derek Davis (160, 4th).
The top four D3 finishers in each of the weight classes at sectional are district qualifiers, and will wrestle at Philo at 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.
Scott Zimmer-led Waterford also had a sectional champion in 126-pounder Austin Lang. Wildcat Blake Heiss was second to Belpre's Martin to qualify for district.

In Division II mat action at Alexander Saturday, Mike Pahl-coached Warren placed fourth with 119 points, and Bill Heldman-led Marietta was ninth with 62.5. Sheridan won the team title in the 11-school field. The D2 district meet at Goshen is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
Levi Congleton (106) and Cory Parsons (113) each was crowned a sectional champion. Both Warriors also set school records with Congleton breaking the single-season fall mark, and Parsons becoming the all-time career leader in victories.
Warren's Brandon Pahl (285, 3rd), Austin Antill (170, 4th), Zach Pike (182, 4th), and Chris Massey (220, 4th) also advanced to district as did Marietta's Garrett Davis (160, 2nd), Will Cogswell (182, 2nd), and Nick Spurr (195, 4th).
At the D3 Barnesville sectional on Saturday, Monroe Central's Rodney Richter (113) and Chase Carothers (132) stood atop the podium, while Zac Potts (152) was runner-up.
Caldwell's Kale Rayner (170) and Kameron Rayner (138) each was a champion while Redskins' Jared Leasure (182, 2nd), Tyler Wiley (126, 3rd) and Caleb VanMeter (160, 3rd) also advanced.
