Brian Thomas Hopkins, 43, of Little Hocking, died on Friday (Feb. 15, 2013). He was born Sept. 24, 1969, in Parkersburg, to Steve and Linda Davis.
Brian worked at Central Environmental Services as a truck supervisor and attended the Salvation Army Church. He was a family man who truly cared for people. He never met a stranger and would do anything for co-workers, friends, and family. He enjoyed working out and writing songs. He liked to make people laugh and laugh with them. He loved the Lord and the church, but most of all he loved his two boys, his wife, and his English Mastiff, Rocky.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Brenda Hopkins; two sons, Brad (Marina) Hopkins of Little Hocking and Ben Hopkins of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; mother and father, Linda and Steve Davis of Vincent, Ohio; mother and father-in-law, Del and Cherley Grogg of Walker, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Tom (Shirley) Grogg; one niece and nephew, Rachel and Andrew Grogg both of Belpre, grandma, Virginia Burd; aunts and uncle, Jeff, Vicky, and Diane Burd; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Charles and Ellen Atkinson; and one grandpa, Richard Burd.
The funeral service will be Wednesday (Feb. 20) at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and beginning at 1 p.m. with lieutenants Erik and Mechelle Henry officiating. Burial will follow the service at Torch Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday (Feb. 19) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
