A Caldwell woman is believed to have died while trying to reach a friend's house following an accident over the weekend.
According to a release from the Noble County Sheriff's Office, the body of Sarah Langley, 21, was discovered by family and friends Sunday, about three-quarters of a mile from where her vehicle crashed Saturday on T-Ridge Road in Noble County's Olive Township.
A deputy responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident Saturday and found a vehicle registered to Langley. He was unable to locate her in the immediate area, the release says.
That evening, Langley's mother notified the sheriff's office her daughter had not checked in with her like she usually does and an investigation into her whereabouts began.
Her body was discovered the next day in a search conducted by friends and family.
"It appears Ms. Langley had attempted to walk cross country through very rugged terrain to a friend's house," the release says. "It is believed at this time Ms. Langley most likely died of exposure to the cold."
A cause of death has not been determined; however, Sheriff Steve Hannum said there is no indication of foul play.
The incident remains under investigation.
