25 years ago

- "A Musical Evening with John Walsh and Friends" is set for 8 p.m. Proceeds will go to the area Special Olympics.

- The Marietta City School Board meeting on Feb. 22 is expected to be stormy, as members are expected to reach a decision regarding the formation of a citizen's advisory committee to review district finances.

100 years ago

- Mrs. G.W. Cook contacted police after her son went missing while she was shopping at Otto Brothers' store on Putnam Street. The boy, who was thought to have been kidnapped, was found on Front Street looking into store windows.

- Feb. 20 marks Marble Day. Starting at 9 a.m., Flanders Bros. will hand out bags of 25 marbles to children.
