- The Times will accept essays regarding the true meaning of Marietta's bicentennial. Essays should detail what the city and bicentennial mean to citizens. A special bicentennial edition will be published April 7.
- Washington County voters will be asked to take on raising taxes a half-cent. The increase would raise an estimated $1.2 million, which would be used to increase the size of the sheriff's department.
100 years ago
- The YMCA baseball membership campaign kicked off with a captains and managers lunch, which was followed by the baseball games.
- "No Man's Isle" opened up at the Hippodrome and received excellent reviews from theatergoers. The comedy show will run through the week.
