Lewis Lee "Buck" Diehl, 78, of Fly, Ohio died at his home on Tuesday (March 12, 2013). He was born on March 8, 1935, in Lookout, W.Va., the son of Iverson Lewis and Frances P. Dugan Diehl.
He was a Wheelman on the Great Lakes Freighters and worked for the American Steamship Line for 39 years.
On July 15, 1961, he married Dorothy Conley and she survives along with one sister, Louise McIntosh of Cleveland. Also surviving are two brothers-in-law, Ed and Ron Conley; four sisters-in-law, Blanche Yonley, Sue Conley, Karen Conley and Kelly Conley; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, William, Robert, Raymond, Joe and Paul Diehl; and two sisters, Sue Yearly and Joan Yost.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (March 15) at 11 a.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home in New Matamoras with Tim Fleeman officiating. Burial will be in the Mehrley Cemetery at Fly, Ohio.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday (March 14) from 4 to 8 p.m.
