Loren A. Duckworth, 95, of Sarasota, Fla., died Feb. 11, 2013.
According to his wishes, he was cremated and buried in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
He was born June 10, 1917, the son of John E. Duckworth and Hazel Mason Duckworth. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ava Henry; and brother, Doyle Duckworth.
He married the love of his life, Olive Irene Parks on Oct. 21, 1935. They were married for 67 years. She died on Dec. 18, 2002.
He is survived by his children, Delbert (Marlene) Duckworth of Marietta, Betty (Leroy) Hawkins of Waterford, and Calvin (Tonya) Duckworth of Sarasota, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was a World War II veteran, Japanese Occupation in 1945 and 1946.
He was a 70-year life member of the carpenter union and retired from Local 899.
Upon retiring, he enjoyed boating, traveling, and RV camping throughout Ohio, Florida and several other states.
A memorial service will be held later this spring with his family.
