A Noble County man pleaded guilty last month in Noble County Common Pleas Court to the murder of his estranged girlfriend.
Larry A. Schoeppner, 34, pleaded guilty to aggravated murder with a firearm specification, said Noble County Clerk of Courts Karen Starr.
Schoeppner was arrested in September after the Noble County Sheriff's Office found him locked inside the Caldwell apartment of ex-girlfriend Tracy L. Kay, 46, who had been shot to death.
Kay had returned to her Cumberland Street apartment Sept. 22 to find Schoeppner already inside and had asked her daughter to call the police, according to law enforcement.
Upon arrival, authorities from the Noble County Sheriff's Office and the Caldwell Police heard gunshots coming from inside the apartment.
Schoeppner soon surrendered himself, but Kay could not be revived.
Schoeppner is set to be sentenced Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Noble County Common Pleas Court, said Starr.
He is facing life in prison, said Noble County Prosecutor Kelly Riddle.
