The state auditor's office identified $87,000 of unpaid water bills for the city of Marietta. Service Director Lantz Hinson has since collected $24,000.

Marietta is hosting the Ohio Color Guard Circuit state championships in Sutton Gymnasium at the high school. All proceeds from ticket sales will go the Marietta High School Band Boosters' fundraising effort to support the band next year.

After an ordinance for increasing the pay of policemen was passed, a request for an increase in pay came from members of the fire department.
During the heavy windstorm that passed through during the morning, the roof of S.B. Freese's house was blown off. No one in the home was injured.
