Marietta High's Clay Mason had the upper hand early, but dropped off and suffered a 1-6, 6-4 and 6-3 setback to Coshocton's Cameron Wiandt in East Central Ohio League second singles tennis action at Glendale Courts Thursday.
"Clay played a fantastic match," said MHS head tennis coach Chris Mayer. "He played a player very similar to himself, who gets the ball back. It's tough to play, tough to put that ball away. He's did a good job of fighting him and winning points."
Turns out that Mason was the only Tiger netter to win a set (6-1) as Coshocton swept Marietta 5-0. The Redskins improved their record to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the ECOL.
