Richard Price Taylor, 93, of Devola, passed away Wednesday (April 17, 2013) at Harmar Place.
He was born Monday, March 29, 1920, in Gilmer County, W.Va., to the late Hyre and Bessie Talbott Taylor. Richard served in the U.S. Army spending 18 months in the South Pacific during World War II, receiving three Bronze Stars. Dick worked for Consolidated Gas Supply Corporation and was a member of the American Legion Post #64 and the V.F.W. Post #5108, both in Marietta.
He is survived by two sons, Richard D. Taylor of Marietta and Dennis L. Taylor (Julie) of Birmingham, Ala.; grandsons, Richard D. Taylor and Dennis L. Taylor Jr.; granddaughter, Bryn; great-grandsons; great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, V. Camille Taylor; five brothers; a sister; and a nephew.
A private burial will take place in Putnam Cemetery.
