A presentation on "Air Contamination from Horizontal Hydraulic Fracturing" will be presented by Deborah Cowden at 7 p.m. Thursday in Marietta College's McDonough Auditorium. Cowden is a physician in Jamestown. The talk is free and open to the public.
Medication Take Back Day Saturday
Medication Take Back Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Any expired and/or unwanted medication can be dropped off anonymously. Labels do not have to be removed from bottles. Syringes, patches and liquids will also be accepted. The drop-off locations are the Belpre Senior Center; corner of Second and Putnam streets in Marietta; White Oak Pharmacy in Barlow; Fort Frye High School in Beverly; Buckeye Hills/Area Agency on Aging; Devola Medical Center parking lot; and Hardwood Components, Inc. in New Matamoras.
Sanitary sewer repairs on Grant St.
The Marietta Wastewater Department will be making repairs to the sanitary sewer in the area of 111 Grant St. on Thursday. Grant Street will be closed to traffic and parking between Ingleside Avenue and Sheridan Street to allow for equipment access. Repairs are expected to be completed by Friday but partial closure may extend through the weekend.

Baked steak dinner at Norwood church
A baked steak dinner and bake sale will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Norwood United Methodist Church, 23 Colegate Drive, Marietta. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. The menu will include baked steak, mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls. Desserts will be available through a bake sale.

at Belpre church
Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 873 Farson St., Belpre, will host Biker Sunday this Sunday. A worship service and special music will be provided by the Lancaster chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Continental breakfast at 9 a.m., worship services at 9:30. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served later. All bikers are welcome.
