To say "Senior Night" was a success for the Marietta Tigers would be a major understatement.
The orange and back thinclads easily swept Wirt County in a duel meet Monday at Don Drumm Stadium.
The boys' team claimed an 85-55 victory while the Marietta ladies outscored Wirt County 107-49.

Marietta High senior Julie Fobes, laughing, hands the baton off to Tiger teammate Haley Bonar during a duo track and field meet relay at Don Drumm Stadium Tuesday.
"They worked really hard today," said Marietta boys' head coach B.J. Mayer. "We're really getting ready for the Noon Lions (Invitational) on Saturday. We're really looking forward to the weekend here. It's just a small step forward and these guys are gonna try and peek at the right time."
Fittingly on "Senior Night", the senior trio of Eddie Kimbrough, Mitchell Grose and Will Cogswell paced the boys on Tuesday.
Kimbrough was first in the discus and the shot put with throws of 122-feet-7.75 inches and 43-9.75, respectively.

Grose ran the 800 in two minutes flat to finish on top while Cogswell was a leg in the first place-finishing 4x100 relay team that timed in at 47.15 and also was second in the pole vault with a height of 12 feet.
Junior Quinton Coffield also had a nice outing, winning the long jump (19-6), 100 meter dash (11.50) and 200 meter dash (23.57). Coffield also joined Cogswell in the winning 4x100 relay team along with sophomores Austin Jones and Garrett Davis. Davis finished first in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.84 while junior Caleb Hall won the 110 hurdles in 17.07.
Junior Grae Setterstrom claimed a win in the high jump with a leap of five feet.
While the boys were impressive, the girls' team was even more dominant.
Like the boys, it was three seniors who did the majority of the damage for MHS.
Senior Haley Bonar was tops in the discus with a throw of 88-4 and shot put with a throw of 34 feet.
Classmate Julie Fobes earned victories in the high jump (4-6) and the 1600 meter run (6:43.39) while fellow senior Erica Dawson triumphed in the 300 meter hurdles (52.49).
Several underclassmen made significant contributions for Marietta as well. Sophomore Brittany Deskins timed in at 2:48.72 to win the 800, while freshman Charlie Bingler won the 100 hurdles with a time of 19.06.
Freshman Olivia Linscott jumped 13-9 in the long jump for a first place finish and Elizabeth Crum topped everyone in the pole vault with a height of eight feet.
The Marietta girls also notched victories in the 4x800, 4x200 and 4x100 meter relays.
The girls' team, led by head coach Mollie Schramm, was able to try out athletes in events they would not normally compete in.
"Usually on 'Senior Night' I try to let them pick something different," Schramm said.
"Try something different, see how you can do and have some fun."
The duel meet was a good way for the Marietta track teams to tune up as the regular season winds down.
"It just gets everybody involved," Mayer said. "It gives everybody kind of a chance to relax and kind of take a step back and just perform as well as they can."
Marietta will be back at Don Drumm this Saturday when it hosts the annual Noon Lions Invitational.
"I'm happy for our seniors," Schramm said. "I hope they enjoyed themselves. It's a good way to go out."
