The Caldwell Exempted Village continuing levy has been approved by voters.
According to final, unofficial results from the Noble County Board of Elections, 1,018 people voted for the levy and 759 voted against. Those results include voters in Washington County's Aurelius Township, a portion of which is in the Caldwell district.
Caldwell Exempted officials said the 19-mill levy was necessary to prevent more than $920,000 in cuts from being implemented for the 2013-14 school year.
Results also are in for the Switzerland of Ohio Local school district, where a five-year, 6.44-mill levy failed by a 2,419-2,239 vote. It wais on the ballot in an effort to raise $2.5 million a year and avoid massive budget cuts.
