Irvin Haskell Lawton, 88, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away on Sunday (May 5, 2013).
He was born in Barlow, Ohio, on Feb. 16, 1925, on his family's farm. On Oct. 4, 1952, he married Mary Ann Stollar, who survives him. He is also survived by these members of his family: his siblings Edward, Isabel Brown, and Shirley Ormiston; daughter Joyce (Jay Nagao); son James (Charlotte), and their children Jeffrey, Abby, and Kaci Durham; son Joseph (Elaine), and their children Lindsey Phelps (Dave), Emily Lawton and Lauren, Michael and Christopher Raizk; and daughter Jennifer McNulty (Tom) and their children Karen, Patrick, Mary and Grace.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou West.
Irvin worked for 32 years at H.O. Canfield/Pantasote in Seymour, Indiana, where he and Mary Ann raised their children before retiring to the family farm. He enjoyed the company of his family, especially when they all gathered at the farm for July 4th celebrations and Thanksgiving. He also liked woodworking, golf, croquet, genealogy, attending church, gardening, and tending to his apple trees.
A memorial service will be held for Irvin at 10:30 a.m. June 8, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Marietta.
