Gloria Julia Goubeaud, 74, of Marietta passed away Sunday afternoon (May 19, 2013) at Emeritus of Marietta in Reno. Born Friday, Aug. 26, 1938, the only child of William C. and Helen Grenke Egler (deceased) in Pittsburgh, Pa.
In her younger years she danced ballet and tap. She was a Brownie Scout leader, danced with the Buckeye Twirlers Square Dance Club, bowled at North Hills Lanes, was a 20+ year voting poll worker, loved to garden and played piano her whole life.
Gloria worked at Thorofare/Pennyfare Supermarket, Harts Department Store, and retired from Marietta College Food Service. On June 4, 1965, she married her loving husband, Richard G. Goubeaud. Beloved mother to Thomas J. Holmes of North Carolina, Richard W. Holmes of Marietta, Sheree L. Fulton (Roy) of Marietta, David J. Landry of Florida, and Mark R. Goubeaud (Christina) of Vincent, Ohio. Precious Nana of Jessica LeMasters (Tim) of Marietta, Derek Holmes of Marietta, Garrett Homes of Orlando, Fla., Ross Fulton of Pittsburgh, Pa., Toni L. Sloan (Rodney) of Newport, Ohio, Taylor and Samuel Goubeaud of Vincent, Ohio. She had four great-grandchildren, Cody, Chase, and Kylee Sloan and Ava LeMasters.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at the Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel. Entombment to follow at East Lawn Mausoleum. Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hadleyfh.com.
