Good Zoo to present programs at Barlow
The Friends of the Barlow Library is sponsoring two programs presented by the Good Zoo at Oglebay on June 13. "Meal or No Meal," at 2 p.m., will examine animal teeth, body structure and habitats to decide what foods each animal may eat. The program is geared toward third to fifth graders.
"Animal Training" allows students to participate in activities zoo keepers use to learn to train animals. The program is geared toward sixth to eighth graders. The events are free but registration is recommended by calling 678-0103.
More sunflowers will honor fallen Marine
The second planting of the 10,001 sunflowers honoring the late Lance Corporal Joshua Taylor will be at 9 a.m. Saturday. Volunteers should gather 5.5 miles west of Marietta on Ohio 550 just beyond Goodfellows Park. Besides honoring Taylor, the sunflowers are serving as a fundraiser for the Harvest of Hope.

Pasta dinner will benefit Secret Santa
There will be a pasta dinner fundraiser for the Washington-Morgan Community Action Secret Santa Program from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday in the fellowship hall of the Unitarian Universalist Church, 232 Third St., Marietta. The meal includes a choice of meat sauce or vegetarian sauce on pasta, salad, bread, dessert and a drink. To-go containers will also be provided for takeout meals. Tickets are $8 or $4 for children under the age of 5. Tickets will be sold at the door and at Washington-Morgan Community Action, 218 Putnam St. There will also be a country store. Tickets for the country store will be $5 for 15 tickets.
The Secret Santa Program is a supplemental gift program that matches children of underprivileged families of Washington County with donors in the community willing to provide Christmas gifts.

New trustees needed for Reno Water
Reno Water is now taking applications for two new trustees. The deadline for picking up applications is Wednesday. Applications may be picked up the Water Office on Mount Tom Road. Election day will be June 18 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Reno Water office.
