The Bicentennial House Tour will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 12. Tour stops include the Henry Fearing House, Marietta College President's House, House of Seven Porches, and Weber House.
James Woodruff, executive director of the Washington County Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Committee has applied for a government subsidy program to let area farmers feed their livestock. The drought conditions in the area have hay production at 25 to 50 percent below normal levels.

Arthur N.R. Masse became a citizen of the United States after a brief hearing in the court of common pleas. He has lived in Marietta for the past several years and is employed at the Marietta Paint & Color Company. Masse was born at Saint Pie, Province of Quebec, Canada, in 1885.
Ormond Butler will represent the Fifteenth Ohio congressional district in West Point military academy.
