Mary Lou Smithberger

Mary Lou Smithberger, 78, of Marietta, passed away Saturday (June 15, 2013) at the Marietta Care Center.

She was born Friday, May 3, 1935, in Marietta, to the late Fred and Agnes Kress Keller. Mary Lou worked for Bell South as a phone operator, Airolite, Kardex, Selby Hospital in the kitchen as well as a cook for St. Mary's Church Rectory where she also was a devoted member.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Stollar and his friend, Diane, of Bartlett, Ohio, and David Stollar (Amy) of Reno, Ohio; three grandsons, Matthew, Christopher and Steven Stollar, and a sister, Millie (Roy) Cunningham of Elyria, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband whom she married on Jan. 16, 1971, Larry William (Gus) Smithberger; and a sister, Eleanor Dickson.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday (June 19, 2013) at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial to follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Tuesday.
